Omicron Delta Epsilon is the international honor society for economics and one of the world’s largest academic honor societies. Currently, ODE has 681 chapters located in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Egypt, France, Kazakhstan, and United Arab Emirates.

UNT currently has an active chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon.
Are you interested in becoming a member?

The minimum requirements for admission for undergraduates are:

      • completion of 12 credit hours of economics courses; and
      • attainment of a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better in economics courses and an overall GPA of at least 3.0

Graduate students in economics are judged solely on their graduate work and must have:

      • completed one semester of full-time work, with a major or minor in economics; and
      • attainment of a GPA of 3.0 or better.

If you are interested and meet the minimum requirements, email from your UNT email account to Dr. Yang Zhou (yang.zhou2@unt.edu), the faculty advisor for ODE, by Monday, April 1, 2025.

    • Please make it clear in the email that how your current academic progress would satisfy the requirements above, and attach the unofficial transcripts of your study at UNT.
    • You will require an invitation code from your advisor to register online.
    • Add the UNT chapter name--Alpha Eta--and your personal information.
    • There is a life-membership fee of $50 (ODE merchandise can also be purchased).

Dr. Zhou will review the application and inform qualified applicants with next steps (Do not make any payment until you have been notified from Dr. Zhou). Meanwhile, contact Dr. Zhou with any questions you may have.
