Professor Michael McPherson has been selected as the finalist among the UNT faculty nominated for the 2014 Minnie Stevens Piper Award.

This prestigious award recognizes ten (10) professors during the current academic year for their dedication to the teaching profession and for their outstanding academic, scientific and scholarly achievement. Honorees will be awarded certificates naming them "Piper Professors of 2014", together with cash honoraria of $5,000.00 each and gold commemorative pins.

Official announcement of candidates chosen by the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation to receive these awards will be made May 1, 2014.

Professor McPherson is a tremendous teacher, a wonderful colleague and an excellent ambassador for our university. He is the kind of teacher we all aspire to be and we are fortunate enough to have him here at UNT.
